The WM6202 series product is a high-performance Wi-Fi module with low power consumption, which is specially developed by ZHIYUAN Electronics for Industry 4.0. Built with a Cortex-M4 core processor, the product adopts Broadcom’s wireless design with the main frequency of 100MHz. In addition to its compliance with the IEEE 802.11b/g/n protocol, the wireless design supports UART serial transparent transmission, so users can realize rapid networking without prior knowledge about the complicated TCP/UDP and wireless network protocols.

Tested and certified by a series of authoritative RF instruments, the module adopts an ultra-small volume design that enables easy integration into various intelligent devices.

High-speed transparent transmission for dual serial ports without any frame loss
The WM6202 has two-way fully-transparent transmission serial ports, so users may rapidly expand the serial port resources of their product into a wireless connection. In other words, it establishes an invisible serial transmission line, with the serial port rate of up to 1Mbps. Transparent transmission enjoys such advantages as enabling users to create their own protocol format as needed on this basis, without being limited to a fixed third-party protocol.
Superior communication distance and strong wall penetration
The module is specially designed for a complex industrial environment, and the antenna’s coordinated designs all pass strict test verification, as a result of which the signal quality is maximally optimized and the signal strength and penetrability are effectively enhanced. Multiple guarantees enable the networking device to enjoy a barrier-free and strong signal. The horizontal communication distance of the on-board antenna is 80m, and that of the external antenna may reach 120m.
Support for AP&Station Mode
In addition to the common AP mode and Station mode, the module also supports the simultaneous operation of AP & Station mode. Once connected to the router, the module may be used as a hot spot to connect to other devices. For example, wireless configuration may be easily accessed as it is in operation.
Four TCP links support simultaneous multi-user management
The WM6202 supports the setup of four TCP links at the same time so as to manage and monitor a device simultaneously by multiple management centers.
Virtual serial working mode for seamless upgrade of serial device
In addition to the commonly used TCP Sever/TCP Client/UDP working modes, the module also supports the virtual serial mode. By linking the TCP generated by the WiFi module to a PC, a virtual serial port will be established, so users may directly operate the user device through serial port software. For former devices using the serial port connection, they can be seamlessly upgraded into a wireless connection without the need to modify the upper computer software.
Various configuration modes ensure greater flexibility
The module supports the proprietary software, web pages, AT command, and remote wireless configuration, thus meeting various user requirements.
Security encryption for multiple-level protection of user data
In the process of communication, the device will both consider stable data transmission and ensure the security and confidentiality of user data, without causing any error, instability, or loss of data. The WM6202 adopts the DES/3DES data encryption standard to safeguard user data.
